The ponytail palm tree will adapt to medium light and direct sun is preferable. Though hot weather is best suited, it will adapt to medium temps. When grown in a cool temp, it should be watered very often.
Ponytail palm is ideal for the most negligent gardener, for he needs to use fertilizer only once in a year, using a 10-10-10 solution. For propagation, this plant can give some hardships to a home gardener. The Ponytail Palm trees may grow up to twenty feet tall.
