When it comes to bonsai trees and the different styles available there are five, formal, upright , informal upright, slanting, cascade and semi-cascade. They determine this by the shape of the plant and how much the trunk of the tree slants away from an invisible vertical axis.

Their are a huge amount of bonsai tress out there but they are basically variations of these five styles. The single trunk style is the simplest and most basic becauase the one trunk determines the overall composition of it.

Over the coming weeks we will go into each of the different styles.
